Hi all, since the last blog it’s not been the greatest of times with various different issues cropping up which has been pretty rubbish and debilitating. On a positive, the legs haven’t had their extreme pain for a while but they are constantly sore and tired and moving them at all is sore and keeping them in the same position is sore. To sum up they’re just bloomin sore all the time, and sitting certain ways my back and chest can start to play up as well, there’s just little to no relief.
I used to get a couple of hours each day when I was feeling fairly decent and could go and do things but this isn’t the case anymore and I just need to do what I need to do when I can. I try to get as much done in the one trip but I always get drained and leave some things for another day.
To start off I was feeling ok but then a couple of weeks ago I started taking little turns, my eyes felt like what a chameleon would see and seemingly mostly my right eye just whooshing around a bit making it seem dizzy. If I close my eyes though it’s ok and after would get a sore head, be really tired for a few hours and get nauseous. I was initially thinking it was the low blood pressure but with it dissipating when I close my eyes I’m pretty sure it isn’t.
It mostly occurs when I’m lying down or switching sides and the odd time when I’m leaning over to put my shoes on, it could be when I’m tired that it occurs most but I’m not certain on that. It makes me unwilling to do much though as I don’t want to be out and about and it happening and having to get home or even falling and causing more problems.
I do get days where it doesn’t happen at all and then the next day it seems to be worse, never really sure when it will or won’t happen.
I was at hospital this morning and told them about it and they want me to get an eye test to get it checked out so I’ll make an appointment tomorrow for that. The big thing though from hospital today was that they are reducing the steroids again. They asked if I was ok with that and wanted to but had to think for a few seconds to weigh up if it would be wise with the way the head is at the moment but I thought “why not?”.
I’m expecting it to be worse than the last time and expecting it to start on Friday for about a week hopefully less, doc said if it goes on longer than a week to phone them, we’ll see how it goes but I’m keeping my schedule clear so I can just vegetate in a dark room and sleep all week if needs be and watch a load of films.
…Apart from that I haven’t really been too bad, I think, no other major things.
I think I mentioned in the last post about the laptop playing up and constantly crashing, or at least when I first start using it but has developed to crashing more regularly when doing things on it and I ordered a new one, nothing fancy, just something that I can do a bit of word processing and most importantly streaming films and tv. I used to have a chromebook with the 360 fold which I really liked, although not the Chrome OS as it was quite restrictive with a lot of things like streaming on some platforms and ftp issues. So I opted for a windows machine, Lenovo as I generally like them and the Yoga as it has the 360 flex to make it into a tablet also which will in theory be exactly what I’m after. I’m liking it so far.
The other thing that happened was that I got my 100th Red Phone Box and made a map of all the locations of the ones I have discovered. Up to 100 I’ve always visited the locations before counting them. Over the last week I’ve been doing a lot of research trying to find more, using Street View. Doing this I’ve discovered another 31 and went out for a drive on Sunday and randomly found another one.
I’ve still a fair bit more to check, towns initially and then random roads but it will give me a chance to do virtual road trips. With the last 31 I’ve added them despite having not visited them, I will make a point of going to them in the future but right now I’m just not capable enough to do that, I’ll keep a note though of which I have and haven’t visited.
Since getting my cinema pass I’ve been to see 13 films in the cinema, I have cut down the last couple of weeks with not feeling right and this week there aren't really any films I want to see but will try to make a trip on Thursday before I get rough. I’ve plenty of services at home though to find stuff on and a few tv shows to watch.
Another thing I have to do is look at broadband, the contract is coming to an end and although I can extend the contract I’m on I’m looking to see what is cheapest with the other services I have. Currently I’m using Now for BB and all the packages too, all at a discount of 50% or less and the major draw to Now is I can watch it on different devices whereas if I was to get Sky I think it’s limited to the one TV unless I pay more but then with sky I get to actually watch tv and record stuff etc. It’s weighing up the pros and cons and deciding which suits me best.
Think that’s all for now, I’m not looking forward to next week much but it will be better for me in the long run hopefully. Let’s see how it goes…
